Crinum asiaticum var. Variegatum is a subspecies of Crinum asiaticum (see description of Crinum asiaticum) is much smaller than this and has white stripes on the leaves. The evergreen plant reaches its height about 1.50 m.
The flowers are white, delicately fragrant, and are arranged in clusters at the end of thick, succulent stems. They bloom all year round.
Crinum asiaticum var. Variegatum grows in any well drained soil. For an abundant flowering a fully sunny location is preferred. Grows well in light shade. The plant has an average water needs. Also tolerates drier soils and short-term drought.
In this species, there are some variations next to Variegatum: so Sunray has yellow stripes, while Starstruck has yellow dots on the green leafes.
Crinum asiaticum var. Variegatum is suitable as a container plant. However, it looks best planted in groups or edges of ponds and streams.
All parts of the plant are poisonous. The sap may cause skin irritation. It causes stomach discomfort if ingested.

Crinum asiaticum var. Variegatum wächst in jeder gut durchlässigen Erde. Für eine reichliche Blütenbildung wird ein voll sonniger Standort bevorzugt. Gedeiht aber auch in hellem Halbschatten. Die Pflanze hat einen mittleren Wasserbedarf. Toleriert auch trockenere Böden und kurzzeitige Trockenheit.
In dieser Art gibt es noch einige Variationen neben Variegatum: z.B. Sunray hat gelbe Streifen, während Starstruck gelbe Punkte auf den grünen Blättern hat.
Crinum asiaticum var. Variegatum eignet sich als Kübelpflanze. Sie sieht jedoch am besten in freistehenden Gruppen gepflanzt aus oder an Teichrändern und Wasserläufen.
Alle Teile der Pflanze sind giftig. Der Saft kann Hautirretationen hervorrufen. Verursacht Magenverstimmung und Übelkeit, wenn die Pflanze verzehrt wird.
